January 2nd, 2008 - Threat of High Winds and Rain Force WinterNats Postponement

Rounds #1 and #2 have been postponed one week to January 12-13. Obviously, this was a tough decision. Rain is not an issue at CalSpeed and could have been a fun change of pace, but when you mix in the kind of wind warnings that have been forecast, SKUSA had to consider driver safety and the quality of the event. Each entrant is being personally contacted and there will be an email blast and press release tomorrow.  Full story on EKN

December 31st, 2007 - Praying for Rain?

Although the WinterNats is run in California, sometimes the improbable occurs and it rains.  WinterNats events are run rain or shine. Running in the rain with the proper set up and tires is a BLAST! So be sure to have a set of rain tires/wheels in your truck or trailer so you don’t miss out on the fun. And to reward those hearty souls that have to get their racing “fix” regardless of the weather, we have a 100 point “tough guy” wet event bonus. This bonus is awarded where the WinterNats race director has declared a wet race and a competitor finishes as least one competition lap (qualifying, heats, main). 100 points could certainly make a big difference in the final series standings in March.  Click here for details.
